Dine-Out Mess Dinner

The retirement dinner in honour of Major Hal Buller, CD, Captain Alison Perry, CD and Master Warrant Officer April White, CD was held on Saturday, 2 March 2013 at the 32 Signal Regiment Officers' mess. It was wonderful to see many previous members attend, especially former commanding officers: Col John Catto, LCol Gary Knopf, LCol Jack Lee, LCol Shannon Regan and Major Ken Lloyd. A big thanks go to Capt Deeb and Capt Rengel-Bron for organizing the event.

Thank you to these three members for their many years of dedicated and exemplary service.

Major Hall Buller, CD first served as an RTOP with RC Sigs in his hometown of Winnipeg. He released and rejoined as an OCdt with 705 (Hamilton) Comm Sqn on Apr 1980. He transferred to 709 (Toronto) Comm Regt in 1984. He held every unit officer's position, thus allowing him to become familiar with all of the workings of the unit sub-sections. In 1995, he transferred to Vancouver and took over command in just two years. He transferred back to Toronto in 2005 to the full time HQ TP Comd position. Maj Buller served a total of 35 years and 3 months, of which over 13 years were full time.

Capt Alison Perry, CD enrolled in the Regiment as a Private in 1983. She progressed through the ranks and achieved the rank of Chief Warrant Officer in 2000. Between 2000-2005, Captain Perry was appointed the Chief Communications Operator for 70 Communication Group and then the Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) of the Regiment. She became a Commissioned Officer in 2005 and was the Deputy Commanding Officer from 2006 unitl her retirement in 2010.

HLCol Alex Moseanu presented Capt Perry with a framed Canadian flag.

Master Warrant Officer April White enrolled in the Regiment as a private in 1984. She progressed through the ranks and achieved her current rank in 2003. During her career, MWO White held various key positions in the Regiment including Finance Officer, Squadron Sergeant-Major and Regimental Sergeant-Major from 200-2009. Since 2009, MWO White as been a Course Officer for the 32 Brigade Battle School. MWO White retires from the Canadian Forces effective 1 May 2013.
