Change of RSM 30 November 2014

The dine-out for CWO Rob Carter was held on Saturday, 29 November 2014 followed by the Change of RSM parade on Sunday, 30 November 2014.

CWO Rob Carter joined the unit in June 1988 through the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). Through his career with the unit, he served in many capacities including an attachment with 7 Toronto Royal Canadian Artillery as part of the Artillery Signals Troop, Radio Troop Detachment Commander, unit recruiter, Troop Warrant Officer and served with the United Nations in Croatia in 1994. CWO Carter was appointed RSM of 709 (Toronto) Communication Regiment in 2009. In 2011, he was appointed RSM of 32 Signals Regiment.

Guests included past unit members, members of Jimmy & Associates and Hong Kong ex-Servicemen Assocation.

Gifts for the RSM included a sword, compass/flask, mini pace stick and a mini-sword.

New unit coin for 32 Signal Regiment.

The Reviewing Officer was Colonel D. Hobbs, CD, Commander of 32 Canadian Brigade Group. Also reviewing the troops was Honorary Colonel Jim Leech.

CWO Marcel Mallia joined 709 (Toronto) Communication Regiment in 1981. During his career with the unit, he served with Line Troop, Radio Troop and was RSM from 2001-2006. He served as Squardon Sergeant Major with 706 (Borden) Communicatino Sqn 2006-2009. He served as RSM with 32 Combat Engineer Regiment from 2009 to 2013. CWO Mallia became the Battle School Sergeant Major from Sep 2013 to Sep 2014.

CWO Rob Carter thanked his wife Sarah Carter, his dad, brother and in-laws for their suppport over the years.
